Writing – On Beauty

Write a small text in which you address the following issues. If suitable, add concrete examples and illustrations of the point you are making, from as many modalities as you can think of (you can e.g. also add links to online movies or games). The text alone (so excluding the illustrations or images) should be around one page A4.

1. Think about something that you find beautiful. This can be anything, from a piece of cloth to a piece of music or even a mathematical equation. Can you put into words why you think this thing is beautiful?
2. Regarding the same thing, did you always think this thing was beautiful, or did you change you opinion during the course of your life? If so, can you remember when this changed and why?
3. Regarding this thing, how does it make you feel? Happy, sad, pensive? Can you explain why that is?
4. Can you repeat the exercises above for something that you find horrible or repulsive?
5. Do you think that ugly is the opposite of beauty? Why (not)?
