Chapter 4: Introduction

This week is about a philosophical movement that had profound effects on all the arts, as well as on society as whole: romanticism.

First, we will look into what romanticism actually is. After that, you are asked to investigate why this movement was actually a contra-movement. Finally, you are invited to put this knowledge and insights in relation with your everyday experiences and your own artistic practice.
