Chapter 4
In 1804, Napoleon Bonaparte exiled the rich and famous Madamme de Staël because of her critial views on his politics. Apart from this eventually resulting in his downfall at Waterloo, this act also katapulted the idea of romanticism from a small village in Germany to a world-wide phenoment.
